PERSONAL.
Detective Lilley, of Dunedin, and formerly police constable stationed at Masterton, is at present on a holiday visit to this town. Dr. Frengley, District Health Officer, arrived in Masterton last evening. He will go to Eketahuna to-day. Mr John Catts, senr., of the Upper Plain, who is 90 years uf age, is suffering from the effects of a sunstroke which he received on Thursday. The dsath of Mrs Annie Sedcole, wife of Mr W. Sedcole, of Pahiatua, occurred on Thursday night, after a short illness. The deceased leaves a husband and three young children to mourn their loss. The funeral will take place' at Pahiatua to-morrow afternoon at 2.30 o'clock. The friends of Mr and Mrs D. Speedy, Flag Creek, Tenui, will regret to hear of the death of their youngest daughter, which took place at the residence of Mr J. Wingate, Kuripuni. on Monday last. The little one contracted a severe form of dysentery during a holiday vacation with Mr Speedy ar.d family, and lingered on for two or three weeks. Much sympathy will be felt for the bereaved parents, who are well-known throughout the Wa ; rarapa.
