FEUDING SHOW.
BT TELEGRAPH —PKES9 ASSOCIATION. t FEILDING, February 4. The Feilding Show opened to-day with fjne weather. The exhibits of live stock were not as good as last year owing to the bad season. The Maiden Hunters' Competition was won byStrawbridge's Carpenter; Sanson's Mona was second. Sanson's Nancy took the first prizs for the mare most suitable for breeding hacks. Jas. Bull took the first prize for the best pair of harness horses, and F. H. Usmar, with Kalula, first prize for mare most suitable for breeding carriage horses. In draughts the first prizes were secured by Hoult and Sons, Bennett Bros, and C. Perry. In daiiry cattle W. P. Hare secured first for dairy cow of any breed. The prizes for heifers were , taken by S. R. Lancaster, S. Standen ' and C. C. Bensemann. In pedigree cattle E. Short secured first prize for Hereford cow and heifer, and G. Wheeler first prize for bull. In Ayrshires prizes were taken by S. R. Lancaster, S. Standen, E. C. Bensemann, Percy, S. R. Lancaster and E. Dermer (first for heifers and cow), and Mrs M. A. Kirton first for bu'l. • In fat ca*tle E. Short and W. Mills divided the first prizes. In sheep (fat) W. Reid, K. W. Dairy mple, F. S. Mcßae, and E. Short were the most successful exhibitors. In fat lambs A. F. Fitzherbert, J. Power, F. S. Mcßae, C. Millen, A. Reid and J. Knight divided the prizes. J. Knight took the gold medal for two fat lambs most .suitable for freezing. In the farmers' class in Romneys the prizes were divided between W. G. Pearce, J. Knight, \V. E. Baker, Koberstein, and W. G. Aitkeit. For Lincolns J. W. Bradey took most of the prizes. In purebred sheep M., Voss, W. G. Pearce, J. Knight and F. Kensington took firsts for Romneys, W. Gadsley four firsts for Lincolns, P. Neilsen and Slack Bros', firsts for Border Leicester?, and S. R. Lancaster,five firsts for English Leicesters, and Lancaster, Short and Knight firsts for Southdowns. In pigs H. Webster took .first prize for the pig most suitable for 'factory bacon. Slack Bros., E. White and E. C'. Bensemann divided the first prizes for purebreds. Jn butter for export Rangitikei Dairy Company with 93.5 was first, Awahuri Dairy Com pany 93.0 second, and Cheltenham Dairy Company 92.5 third.
