ATHLETICS.
BY TELEGRAPH—PBESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, February 3. The selection committee of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association has selected the following team to represent New Zealand at the forthcoming Australasian Championship meeting at Hobart:— Trembath (Southland), Murray, Orbell and Stubberfield(Canterbury), and McKay and Henderson (Wellington). The team will leave Lyttelton on February 14th, and the expenses of the tour will be defrayed by the Council of the Association. It was originally intended that the team should consist of five men, arid the choice of fifth, man lay between Stubberfield and McKay. The Council, however, decided to send both, and the team has been increased to six.
