MASTERTON RACING CLUB.
MEETING OF STEWARDS
The ordinary meeting of stewards of the Masterton Racing Club Was held on Saturday. Tiiere were preent—Messrs C. P. Vallance (chairman), W. Piatt, A. J. Welch, D. McLanchlan, K. Buick, J. lorn?, W. Watson, W. Cooper, D. Caselberg, J. Macara. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs 0. C. Cooper and J. Cie s. Regulations in connection with the issue of licemes to bookmakers as forwarded by the New Zealand Racing Conference, were adopted. Jhe secretary reported that no tenders had been received for the proposal alterations to the buildings and appointments on the racecourse, ic was resolved tc cal< fresh tenders. Messrs Vallance, McLachlan, lorns ar.d Caselberg were appointed to recieve and open the tenders with power to act ir. letting the contract. , A letter was received from Mr Thornsas Cameron, resigning his position as starter to the club. Fourteen applications were received for the position of ■starter, and Mr A. C. McDonell was appointed at a remuneration of £lO 10s per meeting. Three new members were elected.
