WAIRARAPA AMATEUR SWIMMING CLUB.

The Management Committee of the Wairarapa Amateur Swimming Club met last evening, Mr E. Daniel presiding. It was decided to add the following to the club's rules That a member of another club is not eligible to join the W.A.S.C. unless he first resigns and presents his clearance from the club be formerly belonged to. A resolution to ask Drs. W. H. Hosking, A. Hosking, J. A. Cowie, P. R. Cook and W. S. Ross to act as honorary surgeons to the club was agreed to. It was resolved to hold a club carnival on Thursday, March 26th, and to invite several well-known swimmers who will be competing at the Napier Carnival about that time to be present and compete. Dr. R. V. Hosking and Mr E. Richards were appointed a committee to interview the Park Committee with reference to the carnival. The committee decided to hold club 'competitions on Thursdays and Saturdays, commencing on Thursday next. The events will be post entry. Dr R. V. Hosking donated a gold medal to be awarded to the competitor gaining the most points in the following events: —25yds scratch, to be swum on the back, 75yds handicap, 100 yds handicap, 200 yds handicap, and*4ooyds handicap. The competition is to be restricted to financial members of the W.A.S.C. and competitors are to swim in every event. Any competitor failing to do so will be disqualified for the whole series, and any competitor failing to complete half the distances in the 25yds scratch and 75yds and 100 yds handicaps, or quarter the distance in the 200 yds and 400 yds handicaps will lose two points. Mr E. Daniell also donated a gold medal to be competed for in races over 25yds, 40yds and 66yds. The' winners of heatn will receive two points, and the second men one point; the winners of the finals four points and the second competitors two points each. Votes of thanks were accorded to the donors of the medals. It was resolved to continue the competition for Mr D. Caselberg's trophy (plate diving) in the Public Baths on Wednesday next at 6.30 p.m. Dr. R. V. Hosking and Mr E. Daniel were appointed delegates to the Wellington Centre of the New Zoaland Amateur Swimming Association. The Treasurer reported that the finances of the club were in a satisfactory condition.
