METEOROLOGICAL.
At 9 a?m. yesterday, Captain Edwin issued the following; forecast for the subsequent 24 hours: — Wind. —Moderate to strong and generally from the southward. Barometer.—Rise everywhere but northward of Auckland after hours. Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall on the Upper 'Plain for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. yesterday was 4 points. Rain fojl on the Upper Plain on four days in January. The maximum fall in 24 hours was 30 points on the 17th, and the minimum fall 3 points on the 18th. The total fall for the month was half-an-inch (50 points), as against 1.66, 1.77, 2.05 and 5.36 for the corresponding period in 1904, 1905, 1906, and .1907, respectively.
