Mr Bills Goodin, sem\, of Clsreidlle, is seriously ill, and small hopes for his recovery. At Alfred ton, on Wednesday last, Miss Elizabeth Boustead, daughter of Mr W. Boustead, -of Alfredton, was married to Mr Frank Koce, of Alfredton. Mr W, N. Tregonning, Postmaster , of Eketahuna, will be relieved by Mr T. Boland, of Woodville, d-ring his annual vacation of a month, which will commence on Saturday. Mr M. Tafeita, of Newman, has purchased Mr F. Andrews' farm at Nireaha. and Mr Udy, of Wanganui, has bought the property of Mr N. Larsen, at Mangatainoka Valley. Mr W. B. Matheson. who has been a member of the committee of the Eketahuna Public Library during the past fifteen years, has resigned I is •spat. v Mrs Parker, senr., mother of tie late Mr Wra. Parker, of Carterton, is Ijing seriously ill at her daughtcr-in-iaw's residence at Carterton, and is not expected to recover. Mr P. G. Bigwood, managing steward and secretary of the Wellington Pony and Galloway Racing Club,' will arrive in Masterton by the express train from Napier this afternoon. At St. Luke's Church, Greytown, on Wednesday afternoon, Mr Henry Rooks, of Masterton, was married to Miss Annie Gray, daughter of Mr IT. L. Gray, of Greytown. Miss Lilia Gray acted as bridesmaid, and Mr H. A. Bockett as best man. At a meeting of the Featherston School Committee, on Wednesday night, the resignation of Mr L. F. Keys, as secretary, was accepted, and - he was accorded a vote of thanks for past services. Mr T. Saunders * was appointed to carry out the duties for the remainder of the term. Mr T. F. Smith, formerly, and for a large number of yeassra' resident of the Tinui distrie'", died in the Hospital yesterday. The dsaeasei, engaged at various tirnss in the carrying trade between Masterton, Tinui and Caatlepoint, up till recently, owned considerable '"' property near Tinui, which he farmed for a number of years. ThJ deceased had within the last few weeks arranged to purchase a farm near Martinborough, of which he had intended to takepjssession as soon as details had been completed. The late Mr Smith, who wa3 of a genial and kindly disposition, was about 62 year 3 of age, and cini2 to this district from Kaikoura about 23 year 3 ago. For a time he held a seat (n the Castlepoint Coi nty Council. A widow, two sons and two daughters are left to mourn their loss.
