The Masterton Gold Dredging Compny has the distinction of being one i of the mo«t successful dredging ventures in the dominion, inasmuch as it has during the four years of its existence declared dividends representing 100 per cent, per annum upon the paid-up capital, the total dividend money being close upon £20,000. The company was registered oi) of January, 1904, with a nominal capital N of £5,000, •vhich has been fully subscribed, the original value of the issue being 20s per share, 'i'iae railing price for shares today is £2 10s. From the outset tiie claim has proved highly profitable. The first dividend declared was 7s per share, covering a period of four and a-half- months—fiofn 15th of .September to 3lst.of January, 1205. Next year the dividend amounted to 19s; in January, • 1907, a 84s dividend was paid, and this year the dividend was 20s per share. This, makes £4 per share in dividends upon 20s shares during four years. The shares,are mostly held in Masterton, and we have to congratulate the holders upon the splendid success of their venture.
