It is not improbable that Mr ; Renall may decide to again taike iup his residence in Masterton. The friends of Mrs J. Dixon, -of toasterton, who underwent a serious operation in Dr A. Hosking's pri- \ vate hospital, three weeks ago, wiil. be pleased to hear that she is making i satisfactory progress towards oonval- ] escence. Mr W. Darvill, who was injured in the explosion at Mr J. C. Ewiiagtoi>'s foundry, on Tuesday last, is making satisfactory progress towards recovery; and was yesterday able to get ■abou.t.. ' "Diavolo" (J. C. Carter), who "looped the'loop" successfully during ?ttrformances given in a number of ffiwns in New Zealani, ab'dut three years ago, has taken the risk 6nce too often. Ha fell out of the loop in Sii.gapore recently and was killed. Miss Aimee Piper, a pupil of Miss Eva W. Hood, A.T.C.L., who acquitted herself so well at last night's recital, is only fifteen years of age. She has been studying the piano for five years, and has passed her senior practical examination (with honours). A Presj Association telegram from Auckland states that Miss Shaw, a native of the Thames, and at present residing in Auckland, recently passed the examination as an associate member of the Institute of Accountants. Not only did she come out at thejiead of the list, but she is the fijilady in New Zealand to obtain —-fmPabove status.
