A MYSTERY.
BODY IN A DISUSED SHAFT. MURDER SUSPECTED. ' ROBBERY THE MOTIVE. Received January 28, 11a.m. MELBOURNE, January 28. Last week a decomposed body was found in a disused shaft in the Ballarat district. It was supposed to be the result of an accident, but the police have reason to believe that an atrocious murder has been committed, the motive being robbery. A woman named Graham, living apart from her husband, left Geelong early in December to, spend a holiday at Kyandra. She had considerable jewellery and clothing. The body has been identified as hers. There is no trace of jewellery.
