"A TRIP TO CHINATOWN."
Mr Howard Vernon's Musical Comedy Company will stage "A Trip to Chinatown," in the Town Hall, Masterton, on Thursday "and Friday next. A contemporary says:—"The adventures of Welland Strong, the whimsical invalid, Ben Guyer, the jolly old citizen who departs from the paths of dignity for a while, and the entrancing widow, Mrs Guyer, make an excellent excuse for the introduction of comedy, vocalism, and dancing, which Mr Vernon and the company make the most of. 'A Trip to Chinatown' is well staged, and all the characters are well sustained, and the piece, a roaring comedy, goes from Ptart to finish without a moment's stop."
