SPECULATOR IN DRUCE BONDS.
BECOMES BANKRUPT. LONDON, January 24. James Herbert, a farmer, is bankrupt., His solicitors state that his assets included £IOO,OOO worth of Druce bonds, which realised only £ll. (In November the or linary shares of G. H. Druc», Ltd., rose from £2 10s to £4. According to the constitution of the company, the ordinary shareholders were entitled on a wind-ing-up to a sum equal to a hundred times the nominal amount of the ordinary capital. Which may be interpreted as meaning that if the case was won ea:h £1 share became worth £IOO, whereas if the case was lost it became waste paper)^
