At Pieasant Point (South Canterbury), on January Bth, Mr L. E.. Gaskin, eldest eon of Mr Matthew Gaskin, of Martinborough, was married to Miss Ellen O'Driseoll, daughter of Mr M. O'Driseoll, of Ash, Miill, Eavel: Downs.. Mr E. S.iMaunsell. of RiVeraJate„ Waihakeke,, is seriously ill,, end his condition is causing iris relatives: considerable anxiety.. Miss Li Monckton, of Featherston,. will leave Wellington by the steamer Gorinthic on February 27.ch on aitt extended trip-to.England.. Mrs Gundersen,. of Putara, who met with a serious buggy accident on the Eketahuna, Road some tifee ago, and who was conveyed to the Masterlon Hospital,, is making satisfactory progress, towards recovery. Mrs E. Hall and Muss, Hall, of Hastings,, intend visiting England, and will leave by the steamer Arawa in March next.. Mr Foster Brook has been re-elected secretary of' tile Woodvitle Bowling Club. Mr G., li, Jenkinson, Stock Inspector in charge of Ihe Wellington and Wairarapa districts, is at present paying a visit to the North Wairarapa on business connected with his Department. He was at Eketahuna yesterday. Mrs. Kitcat, wife of the Rev. V. H. Kitcat, of Eketahuna, left on Monday on a trip to Honolulu, § A 4 Bramrnerton, yesterday, Mr Chas.. Bennett, of Otahuao, was married to Miss'ldajjßaird, granddaughter of Mrs M?.ce, of Bramrnerton. The bride was given away by her uncle, Mr Walter Mace, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. M. Johnson. Mr Norman was best man, and the bridesmaids were Misses Edith Baird and Wilmot Bennett. Mr M. Mcintosh, who was a member of one of the Masterton Bowling Club's rinks which competed at the recent bowling tournament, at Auckland, returned to Masterton yesterday afternoon. At the meeting of the Masterton Fire Brigade, last evening, Captain Jenkins was elected delegate to represent the Brigade at the United Fire Brigades Association's Conference, which is to be held at Masterton in March next. Cr F. W. Temple was granted a month's leave of absence at last night's meeting of the Borough Council, aa it is his intention to sail for Sydney on Friday.
