Mr C. F. Rowe, of the staff of the Featherston Post-office, has received notice of his transfer to Pieton, and will leave for that place to-day. Mr J. Stevens, of Blenheim, will succeed him. Captain Gibb, who has been in charge of the Sa'.vation Army at Carterton for some time past, has received notice that he is to be transferred to Petone. Hu will be succeeded by Captain Martha Smith, who will be assisted by Lieut. Ince, of Paeroa. The funeral of the late Mrs F. W. Temp«e, who died on Saturday morning, took place at the Masterton i Cemetery yesterday afternoon. The . K cortege was a very large one, and included employees of the firm of Mr C. E. Daniell, of which Mr Temple is manager, members of the Rechabite Lodge, and the Borough Council and Borough staff. A number of very beautiful floral wreaths were received. Rev. J. N. Buttle was the officiating minister at the graveside. The pall-bearers were Messrs C. E. Daniell, J. Heyhoe, Jas. Elliott, J. C. Ewington, Gray and Griffiths. A Press Association message from Auckland reports that the Rev. Ernest Warburton, well-known throughout the Primitive Methodi3t Church in the dominion, died yesterday morning. He had been ailing for some time. A wedding, in which considerable ■interest was centred, took place at St. Patrick's Church, yesterday afternoon, when Miss Gertie Holloway, eldest daughter of Mr and }f Mrs F. Holloway, of Masterton, was married to Mr J. Bradbury, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. Bradbury, also .of this town. The bride was attired in a handsome dress of cream corded silk poplin, and was attended by her sister, * Miss Katie Holloway, and Miss Mabel Sutton, as bridesmaids, who wore cream muslin frocks trim mod with lace, with hats to match. Mr E. Bradbury, brother of the bridegroom, wa3 best man, and Mr H. Truscott was groomsman. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dean McKenna, and was witnessed by a large assemblage. A reception was subsequently held in the Arcadia tea rooms. The newly-wedded couple left by the afternoon train for Welington, on their honeymoon tour. The bride's travelling dr a ss was a * navy blue costume. The friends of Mr and Mrs Henry Wilton, of River Bend, Bideford, will regret to hear of the death of their son Henry, which took place at Bide- \ ford yesterday. The deceased, who ▼ was. 26 years of age, had been ailing for some considerable time, and lately visited Rotorua, returning considerably improved in health. A relapse set in a few weeks ago, from which he was unable to recover. The funeral will take place on Thursday, leaving Bideford at noon for the Masterton cemetery.
