The annual picnic in connection -with the Dalefield Methodist Sunday •School was held in Mr McPartland's •picturesque grounds at Dalefield yesterday -afternoon. There were a ilarge numbl-r of scholars ana friends .present, ancl an enjoyaile. time was ; spent. Mr J as. Brow n, Postmaster at Carterton, is at preset.t spending his ■ annual holiday in the South Island. Tbewmembers of the Carterton Fire Brigade met in the station lastevening,,and appointed Mr G. Canton to represent them at the conference of the United Fire Brigades' Association, to be held in Masterton *oh March Bth nexl. The .Carterton Fire Brigade intend holding a bazaar in September aiext.
