DRAMATIC RESCUE. AMID THE CHEERS OF 20,000 PERSONS. Received January 14, 8.30 a.m. NEW YORK, January 14. A dramatic rescue of firemen by firemen was a feature of the fire in the Parker Building, a thirteen story " skyscraper." The firemen were unable to throw the water above the eighth story, and a number climbed to the roof. They wera unable to descend later, and their comrades from tin eighth storey of a neighbouring hotel shot life lines, which the firemen caught, and attached to a chimney. They then descended hand over hand, amid the scheers of 20,,000 persons in the street.
