CARTERTON.

—, * (From Our Own Curresponeist.) Thursday. The quarterly meeting of the South Wairarapa Methodist Circuit war, held in the local schoolroom, thi3 afternoon. The membership was reported to be 195. Mr J. A. Ordish reported on the business transacted at the Synod held at Napier recently. Special collections were sanctioned to the Greytown and Belvedere trjsts and to the Dalefield and Carterton Sunday Schools. The arrangements for che annual picnic of the circuit were reported to be in a forward condition, and a general meeting is to be held on Monday evening ne>t to make final arrangements. The resignation of Mr Murray Jackson as society steward at South Featherston and of Miss Jackson was accepted with regrec. Mr Jackson has removed to Masterton. Messrs G. A. Fairbrother and J. A. Ordish were re-elected circuit stewards. Mr Anders Anderson, of Featherston, was elected representative to the Conference, and Mr G. A. Fairbrother substitute repesentative. It was decided to hold harvest thanksgiving services throughout the circuit during the present quarter. It was decided to hold services at Waihakeke fortnightly. Repairs are being effected at the Belvedere school. A new porch has been erected and other necessary im-prova.-nents are being carried out.
