THE NORTHERN TOURNAMENT. (By Telegraph—Special Reporter.) AUCKLAND, January 9, Masterton played Turanganui (Gisborne) on the Remuera green, this morning , and lost both games; No. 1 rink by 16 to 19, and No. 2 by 12 to 20. Masterton lost in the aggregate by 28 to 39. The remi-fitial was played this afternojn, when Carlton defeated Gisborne by six points. Hastings had a bye. ThP final between Hastings and Carlton will b3 played to-morrow morning, at 9 o'clock, on the Auckland green. Masterton did not enter a team for the Citizens' matches, for which big entries have been received. BY TELEGRAPH —PKESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, January 9. To-day's results are as follow : Section A (eleventh round).—Napier 42 beat Stratford 41,' Hawera 56 beat Petone 26, Thondon 51 beat Auckland 37, Pahiatua 44 beat Rocky Nook 41, Hastings 59 beat Patea 32. Section B (eleventh round).— Ponsonby 60 beat Fitzroy 33, Gisborne 56 beat Greytown 21, Manaia 42 beat Bluff Hill 36, Wellington 64 beat Kelburne 24, Feilding 45 beat Palmerston North 37. Section'C (eleventh round).—Victoria 39 beat Remuera 38, Greenmeadows 53 beat Turanganui 22, Waverley 46 beat Dannevifke 39, Carlton 54 beat Newtown 35, Wan'ganui 49 best Karori 29. In the final games Gisborne 39 was defeated by Carlton 45. The final will be played to-morrow, betwean Carlton and Hastings. In the final of the pairs match Smith and Parsons (Ponsonby) 29 defeated Simpson and Tutt (Mount Eden) IG. *ln the final of the singles, J. Patterson (Wanganui) 25 defeated J. Bennie (Auckland) 11.
