THE AMBULANCE CAR.

~ (To the Editor). Sir,—l am informed that the ambulance car, just received from "Hingland," could have been made much cheaper in Masterton. Might I ask the committee, or whoever was responsible, why the order left the town where the money was subscribecY and for what reason. The class of work turned out in vehicles by our local firms, would have justified any committee in placing the order with any one of them. This sort of thing does not help Masterton, and if any of the committee are business men, well, do they deserve" encouragirg? We can be patriotic, without sending labour to "Hingland."—l am., etc., COLONIAL.
