AQUATIC CARNIVAL.
The management committee of the Aquatic Carnival met last evening, Mr E. Richards presiding. Letters were received from Woodv.ille, Welington, Upper Hutt, Palmerston North and Napier, promising support at the Carnival. Messrs T. Jenkins and E. Pragnell captain and secretary respectively, of the Municipal Fire Brigade, wereelected members of the committee, and promised the assistance of rhe brigade for the water display and torchlight procession on the avening of the sports. It was reported that the Fire Police were considering the question of giving assistance. ' It was decided to allow tho Masterton Cricket Club the use of the Park Oval for a cricket match against the Old Boys' Club, Wellington, on Carnival Day,'and to forward them complimentary'tickets for themselves and the visitors. The secretary was instructed to write to the Masterton Municipal Band, and the secretaries of the Friendly Societies, asking them to assist in the torchlight procession. Messrs S. R. Edwards and G. Cullen were appointed a sub-com-mittee to dial with all matters in connection with advertising and printing. Messrs J. Dixon and T. Jenkins were appointed marshalls of the torchlight procession.
