THE NORTHERN TOURNAMENT. (By Telegraph—Special Reporter.) AUCKLAND, January 8. Playing at the Ponsonby green today Masterton lost to Viccoria. No. 1 rink lost by 18 to 22, and No. 2 rink won by 17—15. In the aggregate Masterton lost by 35 —37. Against Karori, No. 1 rink won by 34 to 9. and No. 2 rink 26 to 19. Masterton won on (aggregate by 60 to 28. Against Waverley, No. 1 rink lost by 14 to 21, and No. 2 rink by 20 to 23. In the aggregate Masterton lost by 34 to 44. The game against Victoria was in doubt up ; to the last ball. Masterton No. 1 lay one up, which gave them the advantage in the aggregate, but Victorians skip with the last ball turned the tables, and lay two up, winningthe game and the aggregate. 0. Pragnell, skip of No. 2 rink, is playing splendidly, saving his team time and again, especially against Carlton yesterday. He was complimented on all sides , for his -plucky uphill fight, and magnificent saving. Masterton plays Wanganui, at Remuera, green, to-morrow.
