(From Our Own Correspondent). TENUI, January 6. The Tennis Club opened the season on the 4th inst, large number of enthusiasts being present. A most enjoyable afternoon was spent. The most exciting games that were played were between teams Britain v. New Zealand, the latter winning on both occasions. Afternoon tea was supplied by the ladies. Mrs J. Groves, Miss Groves and Mr H. Groves arrived home on the 3rd inst., after an , extended trip to England, and are all in splendid health. A well-attended meeting of settlers and residents of the district was held on the 4th inst., to re-adjust the subscriptions to the medical practitioner fund, and also to try and retain Dr. Dawson's services. Dr. Hunter, who has received an appointment in India, will not be coming back here.
