ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
FOUND DEAD. BY TELEGRAM —PRESS ASSOCIATION", AUCKLAND, January 7. The body of a man, aged 25, of slight build and fair complexion, was found on St. Heliers' beach with a bottle of cyanide potassium beside him. Letters were found in one of his pockets addressed to "Joe," and reference made therein to a Dunedin young lady staying in Auckland, but so far the body has not been identified.
DEATH FROM STRYCHNINE POISONING. AUCKLAND, January 7. A man, named Henry Thomas Lowes Griffin, of Whangarei, and formerly of Dunedin, was taken seriously ill at a boarding-house last evening. The doctors treated the patient for strychnine poisoning, of which he showed symptoms. Griffin was removed to the hospital, and died ihis afternoon.
A DRIVER KILLED
HASTINGS, January 7. A middle aged man, named Robert Large, driver of a grocer's cart, mec his death in the street, this afternoon, through his horse bolting. He fell from the vehicle, the wheel of which Jpassed over his abdomen. He died in a few minutes.
