CARTERTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent).
Monday. During the month of December there were twelve births, one death «nd two marriages in Carterton. The Rev. R. Young, Vicar of St. Mark's Church, is at present spending a holiday at Wellington. The Rev. A. M. Johnson, M.A., Vicar of St. Matthew's Chiirch, Masterton, occupied the pulpit of St. Mark's Church last evening. . The Carterton United Friendly Societies have a credit balance of £5 18s lOd as a result of the social and •dance which was held on Boxing night. This amount will be handed S -over to the funds of the local fire brigade. The December quarterly meeting •of the South Wairarapa Methodist Circuit will be held in the schoolroom •on Thursday afternoon. To-morrow evening the annual meeting of teachers of th 3 local Sunday School will be held, when the election of officers for the ensuing twelve months will take place.
