SENT BY THE lONIC.

The largest shipment of cheese ever made to London from New Zealand was that by the lonic, which left Wellington on Friday. It consisted of 17,471 packages, and was valued at £65,516. About 6,000 packages came from Patea, 3,000 from Wellington, 100 from Auckland, and the balance from the South Island. The lonic also took away a large consignment -if butter—viz., 42,734 boxes, valued at £106,835. About 38,U00 boxes came from the North Island. The total value of the butter and cheese shipped by the lonic was £172,351.
