DECISION OF EKETAHUNA FARMERS.
A meeting of sheep-farmers was held at Eketahuna on Friday last to discuss matters in connection with the shearers' dispute. It was resolved—"That this meeting of sheepfarmers acquiesce in the stand taken by the Farmers' Union Executive not to submit the dispute to the Conciliation Board if it cannot be amicably settled, but that it go straight to the Arbitration Court." It was further resolved that the names of Messrs J.C. Cooper and J. G. Wilson be attached to the authority as representatives of the farmers at the sitting of the
Arbitration Court. Mr J. C. Cooper, who was present at the meeting, undertook to conduct the case on behalf of the sheep-farmers. The following; resolution was carried unanimously:—"Thathaving become acquainted with the statements made by Mr J. C. Cooper before ihe Conciliation Board, this meeting of sheep-farmers begs to thank him heartily for the able manner in which he championed the cause of the farmers."
