MAURICEVILLE SPORTS MEETING.

(Special Reporter).

Fine weather favoured the Maui'- I iceville Sports Club, yesterday, and j the attendance at the sports gathering was a record one. Year after , year this Club has steadily improved the quality of their sports meeting, and increased prize money gave the gathering yesterday a liberal programme, and the best contested sports that this Club has.catered for. The sports were held in the pretty horse-shoe paddock, which, if properly laid down, would be found an ideal sports and picnic ground. The gate receipts exceeded that of last year by a satisfactory sum, and the increase in the membership accounted for the increase in the attendance. The secretary, Mr C.
