LONDON COUNCIL'S APPEAL. EARTHING BREAKFASTS PROVIDED. Received December 23, 8.55 a.m. LONDON, December 22. Considering it unfair to impose an additional burden upon the general body of ratepayers, Lords Rosebery, Avebury, and Rothschild, and Mr A. J. Balfour support the London County Council's appeal for subscriptions on behalf of underfed school children.

Towards the sum of £20,000 required £B,OOO has been subscribed. Salvationists are also providing farthing: breakfasts for hungry school children in "ix London districts.
