SANATORIUM AT MADEIRA.

A CONCESSION CANCELLED.

ON PROTEST OF BRITISH BUSINESS MEN.

BERLIN, December 20,

Germany has agreed to submit to arbitration the dispute between the Portugese Government and Prince Hohenlohe in connection with a proposed sanatorium at Madeira. A German syndicate, with Prince Hohenlohe as president, obtained a concession to build a sanatorium under conditions which would have given it practical control of the island.

As a result of agitation by British business men in Madeira, the concession was cancelled.

The syndicate has now claimed darr.ages for the cancellation.
