METEOROLOGICAL.
Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. on Friday was 72 points. At 9 a.m., yesterday, Captain Edwin issued the following forecast:— Wind.—Strong to gale from the eastward at all places north of East Cape, Taupo, and Manukau" Heads after sixteen hours; moderate to strong everywhere else, but changing back to the northward in the southernmost districts after sixteen hours. Barometer. —Fall at all places north of Etst Cape, "Taupo, and Manukau Heads; little movement elsewhere.
Rain is probable north of East Cape, Taupo, and Raglan after sixteen hours.
Warning signals for easterly gale is exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen and Tiritiri, and will be shown at East Cape after sunrise.
