CRICKET.
]!Y TF.LKCUUr-H riiKSS ASSOCIATION. Received December 19, 7.55 a.m. LONDON, December 18. The M.C.C. committee discussed Mr Abe Bailey's proposal for triangular cricket tests, between teams representing England, South Africa and Australia. It was decided not to express an opinion until a definite scheme had been put before the committee, and to send no formal invitation to Australia to visit England in 1909 till the triangular proposal had been discussed by the Advisory County committee. It is understood the counties unanimously favour an Australian visit. 1 The following players have been selected to represent the Masterton Thursday Cricket Association against the Wellington Wednesday Association, at Masterton, on Christmas and Boxing Days:—McLean, Isaacs, Madsen, F. Richards (Star), F. P. Welch, Waters (Carlton), L. Boyd, O'Leary (Carlton Saturday), Perry (Masterton A), Hall (W.F.C.A.), Phelpj (Carterton) ; emergencies - R. Welch (W.F.C.A.) and N. Boyd (Carlton). Owing to the fact that a number of prominent players will be absent for the holidays, the team is not the strongest that could be put in the field. Players are requested to attend at the Park each evening for practice and rolling the wicket.
