GOOD ATTENDANCE CERTIFICATES.

The Masterton District Hi°:h School and Side School broke up, yesterday afternoon, for the Christmas holidays. The Chairman of the. School Committee, Mr R. Brown, and Mr H. H. Cork attended and presented the certificates issued by the tion Department for good attend-' ance. To obtain a first-class certificate a scholar is required to attend every time the school is open during the year. A margin of five half-days is allowed in order to qualify for a second-class certificate. In several cases scholars have attended the whole, or nearly the whole, of their school life, without losing attendances, while in many cases certificates have been earned for a number of years in succession.
