The New Zealand Loan and Mercan- | tile Agency Co., Ltd., I'eport as follows: —At Pah-atua, on Tuesday, sheep were penned in small numbers, j prices easy, but all selling. Cattle • came forward in large numbers, | meeting a dull sale, although we made a clearance before the close of ( the day. At Mastertun, on Wednesday, we had a fairly full yarding of ' all classes. The dry weather drop in wool and fats accounted for the hesitation on the part of buyers to operate, several pens being passed, but all lines finding purchasers after the sale, when owners reserves were .reduced. Cattle were well represented, but buyers were loth to speculate, a fact mainly due to the fear of continued dry weather, only about half of the entry changing hands. At Pahiatua, forward ewes made lis to 12s, 2 year steers 555, yearlings 455, yearling heifers 25s to 30s, forward cows 40s to 50s, fats 755, forward heifers 42s to 47s 6d. At Masterton, heavy fat ewes 13s lOd, fat and forward ewes Us to Up, shorn ewes and lambs 17s 6d, woolly ewes and lambs 23s 6d to 243, small , hoggets 14s 3d, store ewes 9s, best 2-tooth ewes 15s lid, 2-tooth wethers 12s 3d. to 12s lOd, fat and forward cows 60s, 1A to 2-year steers 60s, yearlings 25s to 355, weaner pigs •and slips up to 14s 3d. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their stock sale, held at their Masterton yards, yesterday:—There was a very limited yarding of sheep and a fair yarding of cattle. Bidding was anything but brisk. Owing to the continued dry weather buyers will not operate. We quote: Aged ewes 9s, 2tooth ewes 15s (id, 2-year steers £2 2s (id, 2-year steers £3 12s, ISraonth heifers 355, fat cows £3 10s to £4, springing heifers £4 10s, porkers 27s Gd to'3os, slips 18s.
