CANADA AND PROTECTION.
A GERMAN MOVE TO BE BLOCKED. Received December 18, 8.20 a.m. OTTAWA, December 17. The Hon. William Paterson, Minister for Customs, speaking in the Dominion House, announced that the Government was taking steps to prevent German goods entering Canada through England, and being sold British preference conditions.
