FOOTBALL.

JSY 'UKLEGPi.U'H E'IIF..TS ASSOC tATKCr. AUCKLAND, December IT. In a letter to an official of the Auckland Rugby Union, dated November 7th, J. C. Gleeson. acting as. secretary for the New Zealand professional footballers, says Professionalism is extending all through Wales. I think Swansea and Cardiff will be playing professional football next year. In the nine matches played so far we have far exceeded the takings of the last team. We expect tremendous gates at Wifjar, Oldham and Hunstel (December 26th). After next week it will be all profits, as the expenses are now all paid. We will probably play three test matches, one in Leicester, which has revolted against the amateur code, one in Wales and one in London. I honestly think this tour will realise £IO,OOO profit."
