ZULULAND CRISIS.
TROOPS OCCUPY COMMANDING POSITIONS. DURBAN, December 13. Colonel Sir Duncan Mackenzie has occupied all the commanding positions in Zululand. Columns are out in various directions collecting the rebellious and reassuring loyalists. A WARNING TO THE NATIVES. REBELS TO BE DELIVERED IMMEDIATELY. CHIEF SENTENCED TO EIGHTEEN MONTHS' IMPRISONMENT. Received December 15. 4.35 p.m. DURBAN, December 14. Colonel Mackenzie noticed the absence of young men from Usuta, and that no firearms were to be found, though it was understood previously that they were plentiful. He warned the natives to deliver the rebels and arms by to-morrow, otherwise the troops would take action. The Native High Court at Maritzburg has fined the acting-chief Quabe £SOO, besides sentencing him to eighteen months' imprisonment, on a charge of sedition. Accused was allowed bail, pending an appeal to the Privy Council.
