AN AMALGAMATION PROPOSED. Received December 13, 8.55 a.m. LONDON, December 12. Negotiations are progressing with a view to the amalgamation of Sir Thomas Lipton's Maypole Dairy Company and the International Tea and Home and Colonial Stores, with a great combined capital of five and a auarter million sterling, and with between 4,500 and 5,000 shops in Great Britain.
