Mr Harold Beauchamp, chairman of the directors of the Bank of New Zealand, and Mr W. Callender, general manager of the bank, paid a visit of inspection to the Masterton branch of the Bank yesterday. They left for Pahintua by motor car in the afternoon. Mr 0. Kempton, of Morison's Bush, returned home to.; England on Friday last. The Mioses Dowdeswell, uf Morison's 8 Bush, have also returned after a tour of England extending over twelve months. At All Saints Church, Midhirst, yesterday morning, Mr G. W. Sellar, eldest son of Mr VV, Sol Jar, of Masterton, and a member of the firm of
Mfjcsrs W. B. Chennells and Co., w$ married to Miss Geraldine M. Manner-Barry, third daughter of the late Captain Michael MagnerBarry, of Waterford, Ireland. The bride was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr Robert J. Hogg, of Midhirst, and was attended by Miss Jeanie Sellar and Zelda Hogg as bridesmaids. Mr E. P. Cameron, of Masterton. was best man, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. A. B. Watson. A reception was subsequently held at the residence of the bride's sister, Mrs Hogg. Mr Herbert Cross, in the employ of Messrs Hoar and Permain, was yesterday presented by his fellow workmen with a handsome dinner service on the eve of his marriage. The presentation was made by Mr George Gray, factory foreman, who on behalf of the employees wished Mr Cross and his bride elect long life and happiness. Mr Cross suitably • acknowledged the presentation.
