The High Commissioner cables from London under date December 7rh as follows:—The mutton market h .weak, and the stocks from Now Zealand on hand are light. The marret has been unfavourably affected, .-is River Plate is in large supply, and -trohgly pushed for sale. Canterbury nutton at 3gd, North Island «.t.3§d. ,'» .'. There is no alteration in the lamb market since last week. The beef market is quiet, but steady. Stocks of New Zealand are litjht and are quoted at 3|d for hind inarters, and 2|d for forequarters. The butter market is firm, with viore enquiry. Choicest New Zealand is 118s, Australian 116s, Argentine 116s, Danish 1225, Siberian 108s. The cheese market is rather quiet. New Zealand cheese is quoted at 60s. The hemp market is quiet, and' rather steadier;' , Moderate business has been done. The following are the . current quotations:—Good, fair grade on spot, £29; fair grade on spot £28 : ; fair current Manila on spot, £29; January-March shipments, good failgrade, £2B; fair grade, £27, There is no alteration inthe cocksfoot seed market since last week.
