OBITUARY.

KING OSCAR OF SWEDEN. Received December 9, 8.25 a.m. STOCKHOLM, December 8. The death is announced of King Oscar of Sweden. CAUSE OF DEATH. PRINCE GUSTAF SUCCEEDS TO THE THRONE. Recbived December 10, 7 p.m. STOCKHOLM, December 9. King Oscar died quietly and was unconscious. The cause of death was calcification of the cerebral cardiac blood-vessels. Gustaf the Fifth has suceeeded to the throne. (King Oscar 11., who was born on January 21st, 1829, was the third son of King Oscar 1., and of Queen Josephine. He wa3 a grandson of Napoleon I.'s famous general Marshall Bernadotte, who became King of Sweden in 1818. King Oscar 11. ascended to the throne in 1872 in succession to his brother Charles XV. In 1857 he married Princesa Sophia of Nassau, by whom he had four children, viz., Princes Gustavus, Oscar Bernadotte, Carl and Eugene).
