Mr W. H. I«. Galwey, manager of the local branch of the Bank of NewSouth Wales, has been transferred to the Auckland branch in the capacity of relieving manager for an extended term. Mr A. Paul, "of the Inspectors' office, Wellington, has been appointed ' acting-manager of the Masterton branch, and will*arrive here in the course of a few days. Mr T. Skipage, of Fealherston, who was married recently, was prej sen ted by the members of the Featherston Gun Club the other day with a I hapdsome wicker hall stand as a j token of esteem. | Mr T. Sullivan, an old resident of j Martinkorough, died on Tuesday last at the age of 75 years. j Before the close of the bookkeeping j class at the Masterton Technical I School, last evening, Miss E. Bry- : den, on behalf of the members of the j class, presented the instructor, Mr 5..-" | E. Wright, with a handsome silver- ; mounted walking stick. The recipient, who is leaving the town very shortly, suitably acknowledged the gift. It is definitely reported, states a Press Association telegram, that Mr McCarthy, S.M., who has been senior magistrate in Southland for over seven years, will be transferred to Napier after Christmas. Airs G. Butler, of Carterton, who has returned from a trip to the Old Country extending over seven months, is to be welcomed hume by the members of the Carterton Methodist Church at a social on Tuesday evening next.
