Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Masterton stock sale held yesterday as follows—We had a fair yarding of sheep and cattle, which elicited good competition throughout. We quote—Ewes with a low percentage of lambs lGs, good ewes and lambs 225, dry ewes 14s to 17s, hoggets in wool 17s 6d, 2 year steers £3 14s to £3 17s 6d, 2 year steers £5, fat cows £4 15s to £7, yearling heifers 3ns, mixed yearling Ws to 37s 6d, forward cows £3 10s, cows in calf £3 4s, emoty cows £2 10s, springing heifers £3 10s. bull £3. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report on their Pahiatua sale, on Tuesday, as follows:—Sheep were yarded in small numbers, all penned selling I well. Cattle were well represented, all selling, although prices showed a decline compared with previous sale quotations. Shorn ewes and lambs made ISs Bd, woolly hoggets 16s to 17s, shorn hogcets 14s to 14a Bd. At Masterten, yesterday, we had a good yarding in sheep of all classes, Including some good quality fats, which made good values. All store sheep offered showed a decline in price, fair proportion of the entries being sold bv private treaty after the sale. The "cattle pens were well filled, and the quality generally was good, the bulk of catMe selling at rates lower than previous sales. Prime fat ewes, shorn, made 15s 6d; store ewes, shorn, 10s 6dtol2s6d; ewes and lambs, best, 255, others 20s to 22s Sd; best woolly hoggets 19s 2d, others 17s to 18s, culls 14s; rams, l?gns; 3 year steers, £5 4s; 1\ years. £4 10s: 2 years, £3 10s to £4; dairy heifers, 2 years, 32s to 40s; yearlings, 25s ta 30s; light beef cows*£4 to £5; dairy cows and heifers, 45s to 60s; pigs, porkurs, 37s <vd; weaners, 13s to 14s 9d.
