A fresh case was reported to the authorities to-day, the patient being resident in the county. At the Carterton courtrnuse, this morning, a meeting of creditors in the estate of J. E. Blade, bankrupt, was held before Mr W. B. Chennells. Deputy Official Assignee. Bankrupt stated thac in June of last year he commenced business in Carterton with about £25. He then owed £3O or £4O. Nearly all these debts had been paid since he had been in business. He attributed his bankruptcy to the heavy , medical expenses incurred from time to time through the illness of his wife. He filed on account of the pressure of his creditors. A motion to recommend the bankrupt for his immediate discharge was put to the meeting and lost. It was rei solved to have a valuation of the * bankrupt's furniture made, so that he could keep the amount allowed him under the Act. The meeting then adjourned. '
