There were no bookmakers present, the regulations of the Jockey Club being too restrictive. Results:— Flying Stakes— St. Claimer 1, Morinrty 2, Splendid Idea 3. Scratched—Moata and Aorangi. St. Andrew's Handicap. —Maniapoto 1, Moral 2, Irish Rifle 3. Scratched—Polyanthus. Won by two lengths. Time, 2min 30sec. Spring Hurdles. — Gold Dust 1, Asteroid 2, Sen Sim 3. Moloch 8.5, Wind 7.13, Climax 7.11, Pearlie 7.7. CONTROL OF 'BOOKMAKERS. FEILDING CLUB'S CONDITIONS. The committee of the Feilding Jockey Club tried every means of keeping the "bookies" off the course at their meeting, but had to. give in. Bookmakers are to be restricted to two special enclosures, and the maximum daily fee (£2O) will be imposed for such privilege. The following are the club's conditions for a bookmakers license (1) No bookmaker's clerk to be admitted to the racecourse. (2) No holder of a bookmaker's license shall carry on his calling as a bookmaker except upon that portion of the racecourse specially set aside for that purpose, and in respect of which he is specially licensed. (3) No bookmaker shall be allowed upon the lawn or grandstand. (4) No bookmaker shall make a bet on any race later than five minutes before the advertised time of starting such race. (5) Any bookmaker committing a breach of these conditions, or of the Gaming and Lotteries Act, shall be liable to have his license cancelled and in the event thereof he shaH not be entitled to a refund of any portion of his license fee, and in addition thereto shall be liable to be expelled from the course. LOWER VALLEY NOMINATIONS. Owners and trainers are notified that nominations for all handicap events at the Lower Valley Jockey Ciub's race meeting on December 26th and 27th, will close with the secretary, MrT. F. McLean from Sir George Cilfford, took fright during a thunderstorm which passed over Warrington yesterday, and got fatally staked when jumping a fence.
