An armed band attacked the Emir of Bokhara's residence at Ashkabad, killed his Minister of Finance, and escaped with £IB,OOO. DEPRESSION IN TRADE, LANCASHIRE LOOMS IDLE. THOUSANDS OF WORKERS IN DISTRESS. Received November 29, 8.34 a.m. LONDON, November 28. Owing to the decline of orders in the coloured and fflncy . trades,,,|bousands of Lancashire looms are fdle or partially running. Twenty thousand operatives are earning less than at any time since 1904. Eight thousand are workless in Sunderland, and 30,000 in distress.
