ARBITRATION COURT APPOINTMENTS.
MR McCULLOUGH COMES ON TOP. JiV TEI.HIiItAI'II PJtIiHS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, November 28. In accordance with the recommendation of a majority of the* unions, Cabinet has appointed Mr J. A. McCullough, late of the Addington railway workshops, as the workers' representative on the Arbitration Court. The appointment is to date from January Ist next in order to enable Mr R. Slater, who at presents represents the labour unions, to assist in completing the cases upon which he is already engaged. Mr W.Young, of Wellington, secretary of the Federated Seamen's Union of Australasia, secured a majority of the nominations of unions as deputy-representative of the workers, and Cabinet has appointed him to that position. Mr S. Brown, of Wellington, was the'only one represented as the employers' representative and he has been re-appointed. Mr W. Pryor, Parliamentary Secretary of the New Zealand Employers' Federation, has been appointed deputy employers' representative. The salary of the employers' representative and of the workers' representative is £SOO each per annum, with £1 per diem travelling expenses.
