' DAMAGE TO OYSTER BEDS. A DESTRUCTIVE ENEMY. Rezeived November 28, 10.12 a.m. BRISBANE, November 28. Serious damage was done to the oyster beds at Hervey Bay by a large fish, attaining a length of six feet. Investigation proves the fish to be the tachinotus ovatus, which had not previously been known to grow larger than ten inches. The stomach of one was filled with crushed shell and young oysters. INCOME TAX EXEMPTION. Received November 28, 10.20 a.m. PERTH, November 28. The Assembly carried an amendment to the Income Tax Bill granting an exemption of £lO per child for families up to five. LOCAL OPTION COURT. MINGLING OF TEMPERANCE AND LIQUOR ADVOCATES. Received November 28, 10 p.m. SYDNEY, November 28. There was a strong muster of the temperance and liquor interests today at the opening of the new court appointed to carry into effect the local option vote. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Received November 28, 10 p.m. SYDNEY, November 28. At the wooi sales the better classes cbsed brisk at the improved levels established on Tuesday.
