WOOL SALES.

Three thousand t w o hundred sixty-three bales were offered, mostly odd lots, and 864 sold. Merinos declined by 10 per cent., and cmssbreds by 15 ptv cent. CHRISTCHURCH, November 21.

At the first annual wool sale of this season's series the wool was not nearly so bright as last season's clip, but was much lighter in grease. The catalogues were made up chiefly of small farmers' clips, with a few larger ones. The sale was a dull one, there being very little competition, except for a few of the best lots of half-bred, and a large proportion of the lots were passed in. R.C.H. half-bred reached only 12Jd, as against 14.fd last year, and Cashmere half-bred was passed in at 1] 16, and was sold last year at 14£ d.
