TE WHITI'S TANGI.

THE TOHUITES VIEW. PROPHET"SHOULD BE BURIED LIKE A DOG." BY 'J'EI,K(IIIAI>II-"I'RE3S ASSOCIATION. NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 21. There was no incident of great moment at Parihaka to-day, and though probably 250 Maoris arrived to-day, this number is much below . expectations, and the followers of Te Whiti are greatly disappointed. Profuse welcomes in true Maori fashion are extended to visiting parties, whose grief and expressions of laments are most pathetic. Amongst this evening's visitors were Dr. Pornare and Mr Hira Parata, and natives from Waikanae. The funeral will take place at one o'clock to-morrow. In the open square in front of Te Whiti's house a brick tomb is being built, which was the subject of a great korero this morning, the Tohuites holding that the deceased should be buried like a dog and thrown into a hole after the manner of the teachings of the prophets during the last forty-seven years. Nothing has been decided as to the manner of burial, but the Rev. Mr Haddon, native Wesleyan minis-, ter, endeavoured at the meeting, tonight, to have the funeral according to Christian rites, pointing out that the other arrangement" are according to the pakeha ways. The utmost discipline and good order prevails amongst the 1,000 present, and v ,no liquor is in evidence.
