RAILWAY STRIKE IN INDIA.
SERIOUS'STATE OF AFFAIRS, Received November 21, 8.31 a.m. CALCUTTA, November 20. A rather serious stato of affairs is reported in connection with the East Indian railway service. The European and native. employees have struck, and the service is thoroughly disorganised. The trouble extends from Allahabad, the capital of the north-west provinces, to Calcutta. Traffic is at a standstill, and it is estimated that there are six thousand passengers stranded at Asansol, in the Bardwan district of Bengal. ' The strikers threaten violence.
